FMEA to FTA =========== Creating a FT from FMEA ------------------------ Under the **FMES** tab in the **FMEA** module, you have the ability to create a fault tree from the failure modes used in the **FMEA** (pivoted with the aid of the FMES). .. image:: img/fmea_to_fta.png :width: 696.47pt After clicking the "Create Fault Tree" button and choosing an FTA system to place the fault trees in, you can choose what top gates to include in them and provide the ratio from OH-FH ratio. This all results in a fault tree like the one below. .. image:: img/fmea_to_fta_2.png :width: 696.47pt Adding Child Nodes from FMEA ---------------------------- To begin, the user has to create a new FTA System within the project they are working on and link an FMEA System. In the "Create a FTA System" modal, after filling in all required fields, the user simply has to choose the FMEA system they wish to link under the ``Related FMEA System`` dropdown menu. .. image:: img/fmea_to_fta_1.png :width: 696.47pt With this, when creating child nodes for a parent node in a fault tree, the user can choose to create one linked to an FM. To do this, the user must simply click on a parent node, click on ``Add Child`` on the side tab, and then click on the ``Type of Node`` dropdown menu. .. image:: img/fmea_to_fta_3.png :width: 696.47pt Here, the user can choose the node to be either a Basic or Underveloped Event. .. image:: img/fmea_to_fta_4.png :width: 696.47pt Finally, they must click on ``Select an existing FM`` and choose the desired part, represented by their respective part numbers and their names as tooltips. Once one of these are chosen and ``Create Node`` is clicked, the linked node is added to the FT.
